Good afternoon Runners;

here is a final update about tomorrows race.

Weather forecast looks quite pleasant, sunny and 79 at 8:00AM, so conditions should be good. I did quite some trail maintenance the last couple days, because that particular section of the Horseshoe trail gets quite overgrown in the summer and saturated with sticker bushes. I think I got most of them, but like with any trail race, one always needs to pay attention, because there are always some obstacles in your way.

Directions:

You can find directions here:

http://www.stoudtburgvillage.com/directions.php

or you may use this address:

Stoudtburg Village 3, Reinholds, PA   17569

The race starts in the German village (Stoudtburg Village) next to Stoudtburg Brewery.

There is free parking right at the village. Try to get there by 7. Registration open at 6:45AM, we still have plenty open sport, so bring a friend to sign up on raceway for this madness.

Scoring:

As mentioned previously, everyone competes as a individual for the agegroup awards/overall position, but your score will also be used in the team competion Roadrunners vs Trailrunners.

We encourage all roadrunners to wear a read shirt and the trail runners to wear a green shirt. This way , it would be easier to know, if the runner in front of you is on your team or not. The race t-shirt you will receive tomorrow will also be red or green , depending on your team, so you may use your race shirt tomorrow also.

Obviously this team competition is just about having fun with it. There are no special trophies for the team competition, however, we will provide some alcoholic refreshments for the winning team.

Start practice trash talking today, so you have a good line handy, when you pass a runner from the opposing team.

Aidstations:

There a 3 aidstation on the course. They will provide you with water and Hammer sports drink. They are about 2.5 miles apart, you may want to opt to carry a bottle during the race.

Course:

The course is a mix of trails, gravel roads, public roads and open fields. The roads are not closed to traffic, so please pay attention when you run on them. However, there is hardly any traffic on these roads. There will be traffic guides at road intersections.

The trail section is marked with pink ribbon/flags and flour arrows on the ground, the road is marked with signs and flour marks on the road. In essence the course is a giant lollipop.

Should be a fun day tomorrow.

If you have any questions, please email me at stephanweiss@comcast.net.

Happy trails

Stephan

P.S.: The location of the start./finish is a lovely little German shopping village, so bring your family. They can window shop while you run or have a cup of coffee right at the finish. More about the village and special offers at the shops below.
