Course:
Entire course is within Hickory Run State Park. Course is a figure 8 shaped 50K loop, 100k runners will run the 50k course twice.
90% of the course is a mix of single track hiking trails and some wider multi-use trails, only about 1 mile of (gravel)road.
Most of the trails are not considered super difficult by trail running standards, but especially the Shades of Death Trail section ( about 1 mile)and the boulderfield crossing ( less then 1 mile) are very difficult.
